How the calculations and country data work

OverdueInvoice provides practical estimates for overdue invoices. The calculation is deliberately kept transparent: the result is based on the information entered, the selected rule and the documented data status.

Last reviewed: 22 August 2026

Official sources

Legislation, central banks, ministries and official EU or government portals take priority.

Documented data status

Rates and source links are checked periodically and carry a verification date.

Clear calculation

Dates, rates, fees and formulas remain visible so the estimate can be checked.

Who runs the website

The website is published by Oliver Lauckner, a sole proprietor based in Blankenfelde-Mahlow, Germany. It is intended for freelancers, agencies and small businesses that want a quick, understandable starting point for following up an unpaid invoice.

Where the rates come from

For every supported country, the dataset points to the rule for the relevant type of claim. Commercial transactions, consumer debts and claims against public authorities may be subject to different rules.

Official publications are preferred, especially where they state the rate, the reference-rate mechanism or the applicable period. The source title, direct link and verification date are stored with the country data.

How the calculation works

The general estimate uses simple daily interest: principal × annual rate ÷ 365 × overdue calendar days. A fixed recovery fee is included only where the selected country rule expressly provides for one.

Due-date tools add calendar days to the chosen starting date. They cannot interpret contract terms, holidays, business-day clauses, partial payments or rate changes during a longer overdue period.

How the data is reviewed

The listed rates and source links are checked periodically. A new or changed value is published only after the underlying source has been reviewed. If a link is no longer available, it is flagged for correction.

The date shown with the data indicates the latest completed review. A more recent legal change may nevertheless not yet be reflected on the website.

What you still need to check

The tools provide general information and estimates, not legal, tax or financial advice. The correct result can depend on the governing law, the contract, the parties, prior notices, partial payments and other facts the website does not know.

Before charging interest or taking further action, check the current official rule and your individual circumstances. You remain responsible for how you use the result; seek qualified advice where an error could have material consequences.

Report a correction

If you notice an outdated value, a broken source link or a calculation issue, email info@invofox.de and include the country, rule and, if possible, the official source.
